Why vaccines matter – especially now?
20 July, 7 pm
Prof. Beate Kampmann, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine
Moderator: Nikola Kerekov, PhD, Institute of Microbiology at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences

This interactive presentation will first set the scene for a more generic understanding of how vaccines work and what we look for when we assess their safety and efficacy. We will then give some detail about the pipeline of COVID-19 vaccine candidates with a focus on those already in clinical trials in humans and open up the discussion around the next steps in the vaccine development, who might get vaccinated, who might be involved in the decision making and take questions from the moderator and the audience.
