🚀 Landing 12 people on the moon between 1969 and 1972 remains undoubtedly one of NASA’s, and altogether humanity’s, greatest achievements, if not the greatest. There was only one thing missing… we couldn’t establish a lasting human presence there.
This would become possible on the “wings” of the Orion spacecraft! As a result of an ambitious collaboration between the US and Europe, Orion, however, represents only the first in a list of planned elements towards the goal of learning how to live and work in the lunar environment. Scientists are also shooting for the moon (literally!), by already working on Lunar landers, an orbiting space station in lunar orbit called the Lunar Gateway and spacecrafts needed to resupply and perform lunar landings.
🌟 We are therefore inviting you on a free VIP journey to the Moon beforehand! Join us on Yuri’s Night 2021 (12.04.), where our pilot for the evening Dragos-Alexandru Paun will tell us all about Orion’s mindblowing construction, the process of designing, engineering, and testing it, as well as all about the future human-spaceflight programs towards our beautiful neighbor!
So fasten your seat belts! Ad Luna per Aspera! ✨ May the lunar colonization begin!
This event is carried out and funded under the PECS programme of the European Space Agency (ESA).
Dragos-Alexandru Paun has graduated Aerospace Engineering from “Transilvania“ University in Brasov – Romania and further completed his studies by attending the Space Exploration and Development Systems (SEEDS) Master at Politecnico di Torino and Supaero Toulouse.
He has joined the space industry in 2010 and since 2012 has been working for Ariane Group GmbH in Bremen Germany. He has worked on projects such as ATV, Ariane 5, VEGA and currently is working as a propulsion engineer for the European Service Module (ESM) of the MPCV Orion program to return astronauts to the Moon.
